Small private concert by a teacher who performs on the world stage
With a wide repertoire ranging from classical to romantic music, she has performed with many major Japanese and foreign orchestras, and is one of the most popular and talented pianists in Japan. In 2005, she performed in the "Marriage Festival Concert" organized by the English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) at Windsor Castle in the presence of Prince Charles and Princess Charles of England.
Recently,she performed to high acclaim at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by János Kovács in December 2022, and with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by Ken Xie in April 2023.
Her books include "Piano Masterpieces and Masterpieces," "Chopin Keyboard Mystery," "Beethoven Keyboard Universe" (Nutmesha), and "Pianists are Interesting" (Shunju-sha).
This is a live performance with a mini lecture that even beginners can enjoy.
「自分ができることを社会に返す」は子供の頃、アメリカ生活の中でピアノを弾く、というボランティア活動中に育まれた御心だそうです。そんな子供時代から和の心をもって仲道郁代ご自身が西洋音楽にどう向き合ってきたか、世界を舞台に活躍されたからこその視点でのトークも魅力です。
今回は、ベートーヴェンの「葬送」とよばれるソナタ、そして彼の最後のソナタを通し、ベートーヴェンがそこに見出す境地を紐解きます。
小さなサロンコンサートなので、普段とは違うアットホームな雰囲気の中、彼女の素顔に迫ります。
