Small private concert by a teacher who performs on the world stage
With a wide repertoire ranging from classical to romantic music, she has performed with many major Japanese and foreign orchestras, and is one of the most popular and talented pianists in Japan. In 2005, she performed in the “Marriage Festival Concert” organized by the English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) at Windsor Castle in the presence of Prince Charles and Princess Charles of England.
Recently, she performed to high acclaim at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by János Kovács in December 2022, and with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by Ken Xie in April 2023.
Her books include “Piano Masterpieces and Masterpieces,” “Chopin Keyboard Mystery,” “Beethoven Keyboard Universe” (Nutmesha), and “Pianists are Interesting” (Shunju-sha).
This is a live performance with a mini lecture that even beginners can enjoy.
She says that “giving back to society what I can” is the spirit she developed as a child while volunteering to play the piano in her life in the United States. She also talked about how she has faced Western music with a Japanese mind since her childhood, and how the concept of “the other shore” in Schubert’s music differs between Japanese and Western music. The talk is also an appealing feature. The small salon concert will provide an opportunity to get to know her in a more intimate setting than usual. The capacity is limited, so please register as soon as possible.
